Rotterdam is one of the oldest farms in the Swellendam area dating back to 1794. The farm offers Boutique accommodation,a Chapel, Trophy Room, Swimming pool and a Restaurant. The two accommodation types consists of De Wagenhuis and The Fraser Jones Buildings.
The thatch roof building called De Wagenhuis has seven rooms in total. Three of the five rooms on top floor is ensuite with two sharing one central bathroom. Ground floor is where you will find the two bedroom flatlet named after the late Jan Auger, who was the head gardener in the Cape Town gardens. He was well known in that time in the Cape Town area and chose to spend his last day’s on the very peaceful Rotterdam farm before he passed away.
“The Fraser Jones” building with its twelve en-suite rooms sleep 2 people per room. Four rooms on ground floor walks out onto the courtyard and the two large 72m2 rooms facing the Buffejagsriver and green pastures of the Dairy farm. On the top floor you will find four rooms facing the courtyard with two East facing rooms also very large in size, similar to bottom floor. All rooms are equipped with Egyptian cotton and towels to make your stay as relaxing and comfortable as possible. Breakfast baskets and Braai Baskets is on offer for delivery to your room. The breakfast will be a dry breakfast with all food already prepared. Guest can then choose to have these in one of our dedicated eating and picnic areas on the farm. Something that has been tried and tested in other accommodation offerings in the OENA group. The Restaurant and Bar area is only open by appointment and prior arrangements.
